1st Grade Life Cycle

Students are learning about life cycles of living things!

To begin exploring this topic, students in room 103 were asked what plant they would like in their garden and why. See below for some great answers!

Dijon: If I had a garden I would plant fruits, and vegetables because I can provide food for myself if I don't have any money to buy them. I can also sell them and make money.

Neveah: I would like to plant watermelon it is my favorite fruit.

Aron: I like to plant a watermelon because a watermelon is the big and tasty.

3rd Grade Chick Quest

Third grade students have been learning about the life cycle of chickens from egg to chick!

Normally, each classroom would get to observe the hatching in person- but thanks to technology, they can watch live on youtube! In fact, room 207 has been watching a LIVE hatching of eagles in Northeast Ohio. How exciting!

Students were asked to create a nest that would safely hold and care for a chick. See above for some examples of their creativity!
Look her for a live webcam of the incubator! When do you think the chicks will arrive?

4th grade: Capacity

4th graders are learning about capacity, weight, measurement and volume. They had a fun scavenger hunt last week. Ms. Helbig asked each to search their homes for items that weight a pound, 10 pounds and 1 ton! It was fun to see what each student found.. everything from a game controller to a pickup truck! Learning can be fun virtually!
