In the United States, a child is reported missing every 40 seconds. Reports from the Department of Justice and A Child is Missing show the faster a missing child’s information is shared with law enforcement the greater chance of a safe recovery. Most children are found, but there are still too many children who never return home.

The GASP Annual National Missing Children’s Day event raises awareness of the issues surrounding missing and exploited children. It serves as a reminder that thousands of children are missing in the U.S. and drives home the importance of making child protection a priority.
